Physical Education

Encouraging Lifelong Fitness and Teamwork

At SJEDS, our Physical Education program is designed to instill a love for movement, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle in all our students. Through a structured and engaging curriculum, we help students develop fundamental motor skills, coordination, and an understanding of sportsmanship. Our program emphasizes the importance of an active lifestyle and encourages students to embrace physical fitness as part of their daily lives.

Age-Appropriate Curriculum

Pre-K 3 – Third Grade: Students participate in structured PE classes daily, where they engage in skill-building activities, cooperative games, and fundamental movement exercises. These sessions promote balance, coordination, and teamwork, setting the foundation for future athletic success.

Fourth – Sixth Grade: Older students take part in PE or have playground time four times per week, offering opportunities to refine their skills, explore new sports, and engage in physical activities that promote endurance, agility, and strategy.

Sportsmanship and Character Development

Beyond physical activity, our program emphasizes the value of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for others. Through both individual and team-based activities, students learn to encourage their peers, celebrate successes, and handle challenges with a positive attitude.

A Fun and Engaging Approach to Fitness

From traditional sports like soccer and basketball to creative fitness games, obstacle courses, and outdoor play, we strive to make exercise fun and engaging. Our goal is to foster a lifelong appreciation for physical activity, ensuring that students leave SJEDS with the skills and motivation to lead active, healthy lives.
