Kingdom Theatre

One of the most unique and beloved programs at our school brings religious education to life through the dramatic arts. Rooted in the Anglican and Episcopalian tradition, this experience helps students not only learn the stories of the Bible but also live them—through voice, movement, imagination, reflection, and more. We believe every child has a place in God’s story.

Through Kingdom Theatre, students explore scripture as more than just ancient text. These become living stories, rich with meaning, wonder, and relevance for today. Children step into the shoes of the faithful—Abraham and Sarah, Moses and Miriam, David, Mary, the disciples, and many others—acting out the triumphs, challenges, and grace found in their journeys.

This experiential approach nurtures both spiritual and personal growth. Students gain:
  • A deeper understanding of the Bible’s messages
  • Greater self-confidence in sharing ideas and performing
  • Practice in collaboration and problem-solving
  • Opportunities to reflect on their own growing faith
In the upper school, journal reflections become a key part of the experience. Students write about what they see, feel, and learn through the stories they tell. These reflections often become deeply personal expressions of their understanding of God’s love and their place in His ongoing story.

The program also honors the cultures, history, and settings of scripture. Students are encouraged to ask thoughtful questions: What was it like to be a prophet in exile? How did early Christians live under Roman rule? Why did Jesus tell stories the way He did? From the fishing villages of Galilee to the crowded markets of Jerusalem and the dusty roads of the Roman Empire, students bring the world of the Bible into their imaginations.

In every age, God’s story continues, and our students are discovering how they are a part of it.
