How old must my child be to enter SJEDS?
Students applying to pre-K 3, pre-K 4 or kindergarten must be three, four or five years old on or before September 1st in the year of enrollment.
What determines acceptance to San Jose Episcopal Day School?
Acceptance is based on scores received from highly individualized tests, group observation and/or classroom visits, and previous school history, including standardized test scores and teacher recommendations. Priority status is given to siblings of current students, church members, and children of alumni.
How do I obtain an application for enrollment and when should it be submitted?
Please contact the Admission Director for an application packet or download the appropriate forms on line. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and testing/visit dates are scheduled in January and February for admission the following August.
What must accompany the application?
A testing/application fee of $100.00 is due with the signed application forms. A recent family photograph is also requested. Upon acceptance of an enrollment contract, parents are required to furnish a copy of the student’s birth certificate, social security card, and the appropriate Florida health forms.
Is it possible to tour the school?
Tours of the campus are encouraged! Please call the Admission Director at 904-733-0352 to schedule an appointment.
What are the school hours?
Pre-kindergarten 3 and 4 -8:10 am to 12:00 pm
Kindergarten-8:10 am to 1:00 pm
Grades 1-6-8:10 am to 3:00 pm
Early morning supervision is available from 7:30 am to 8:00 am
Extended Day Care available until 6:00 pm
Do SJEDS students wear a uniform?
Yes. Please see the Family Handbook for details on uniform options or view the online grid..
Do all students attend Chapel services?
Yes. Pre-kindergarten 3 & 4 and kindergarten students attend Chapel on Tuesday mornings. First through sixth grade students attend on Wednesday mornings. Parents are always welcome to attend Chapel services with their children.
Can parents volunteer on campus?
Yes! SJEDS has an active Parents’ Association and offers many opportunities to get involved both inside and outside the classroom. All parent volunteers must attend the Safeguarding God’s Children Workshop before participating in classroom activities.
Is financial aid available?
SJEDS offers limited financial assistance. Applications for financial assistance are processed through School and Student Service for Financial Aid and are available through the Business Office.
