Board of Trustees
Mr. Will Haeberle
Will Haeberle is a first time member of the Board of Trustees. He is a native of Kentucky and moved to Jacksonville in 2006. He is self-employed as a Certified Public Accountant after working several years in the corporate world. He is a member of San Jose Episcopal Church. Will and his wife are parents to daughter Grace Wells who turned one in August. In his spare time, Will enjoys watching Kentucky basketball, Bengals football, and Reds baseball despite the fact that none of the teams has won a championship in the last several years, however, he never gives up hope.
Mrs. Pamela Wehde
Pamela Wehde begins her second term on the Board of Trustees with the 2013-2014 school year.She is a native of Jacksonville and attended the University of Alabama Birmingham where she received a BS degree in Medical Technology. Pamela and her husband Chuck have one son Bryce, a 2012 SJEDS graduate, and 8th grader at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville. She enjoys playing tennis, keeping up with their Goldendoodle “Champ” and spending time with her family.
Mr. Tom Paul
Tom is in his second term on the Board of Trustees, having previously served as Treasurer and Chair (President) during a term that ended in 2007. He is a member of San Jose Episcopal Church and has served as Treasurer on the Vestry. He also serves on the audit committee for the Episcopal Diocese of Florida. Tom and his wife Katherine have two children, Ashley, a 2010 SJEDS graduate, and Dylan, a 2012 SJEDS graduate. Both Tom and Katherine were born and raised in Miami and moved to Jacksonville after graduating from the University of Florida.
Mrs. Dana Baldwin
This is Dana’s third year as a member of the Board of Trustees. She and her husband, Scott, have 3 children, Brooke, in 6th grade, Blair, in 3rd grade and Hunter, a future SJEDS student. Dana was born and raised in St. Augustine and has lived in Jacksonville for 15 years. She studied Business Management at the University of North Florida and has served two years on the SJEDS PA Board as Historian and Secretary. Spending time with her family, volunteering and traveling are a few of her favorite things.
Mr. Mike Pickering
Mike Pickering started serving on the Board of Trustees in 2011. He is married to Terry Pickering, who has taught for nine years at SJEDS. Their two daughters have attended SJEDS since pre-K. Caroline is entering the fifth grade, and Julia graduated in 2011. Mike works locally as an analyst for Lender Processing Services. He has worked in the Information Technology (IT) field for 17 years, developing applications and defining application deployment architectures. Mike has a BM in Music Theory and Composition from Jacksonville University, and an MS in Computing and Information Sciences from the University of North Florida. He has served on the SJEDS technology committee since 2006. Mike attends San Jose Episcopal Church, where he is active in the choir.
Mrs. Gwen Gallagher-Howard
Gwen Gallagher-Howard is beginning her third year on the SJEDS Board of Trustees. She is originally from Savannah, Georgia, and moved to Jacksonville in 1988. Gwen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, and worked as an analytical chemist, a flavor and fragrance chemist, and as the business manager for her family owned specialty chemical manufacturing company. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Southside United Methodist Church. She and her late husband, Scott, shared five children, four of whom are graduates of SJEDS. During her time as a parent at the school, Gwen served on many PA committees and as PA President. She continues to judge the school science fair.
Mrs. Erica Kirk
This is Erica’s third year on the board. She grew up in Jacksonville and received her BA in Psychology from UNF. After college, Erica worked with two different non-profit charities providing housing for homeless, low-income elderly and disabled families as well as grant writing. After marrying her husband Kevin, they lived in Japan for 3 years where she was an Academic Advisor for the University of Maryland, Asian Division. They have three sons; Jackson who is in 6th grade, Colin who is in 3rd grade and Bennett who is in Kindergarten. In her free time, she enjoys tennis and traveling with her family.
Mrs. Christine Wentzel
Christine Wentzel, and husband Tim, have lived in Jacksonville since 1989. Their sons Noah and Luke attend Episcopal School of Jacksonville and in 10th and 7th Grades, respectively. Both are graduates of SJEDS, Noah – Class of ’10 and Luke – Class of ‘13. The Wentzel family has been part of SJEDS since 2007 and have enjoyed helping with Art Day, Spring Fling, Vision Screening, Hospitality, Sixth Grade Cares & Shares and any other activity that needs an extra set of hands. Professionally, Christine works for the St. Johns River Water Management District. She enjoys playing sports with the boys, watching and cheering at soccer games, being outside and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Vanesa Bowden
Vanesa was born in Starke, Florida and raised in Jacksonville. She attended Ribault Senior High School and graduated from the University of North Florida, where she majored in History and Psychology. She has two grown children, Sean Abbey and Darisse Bowden, who attended San Jose Episcopal Day School. Her grandchildren, Arlee and Jolee Abbey, attend SJEDS as well. She has another grandchild, Devin Smith. Mrs. Bowden is married to Judge Aaron K. Bowden.
Mrs. Kimberly Garcia
Kimberly graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Accounting. She is married to Phil, a local physician, and enjoys spending time and traveling with her family, baking, cooking, going to the beach, yoga and volunteering at school. The Garcia’s have two children, Madelene and Nicholas. Madelene graduated from SJEDs and is a 7th grader at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville. Nicholas is a 5th grader at SJEDS.
Mr. Brian Logullo
Brian is beginning his first term on the Board of Trustees. Brian is a native Floridian, grew up in Jupiter, FL., and received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University. Brian and his wife Charlotte have two children attending SJEDS, Samuel (6th Grade) and Hannah (4th grade). They moved to Jacksonville in 2004 and are members of San Jose Episcopal Church. In his free time, Brian loves to play golf.
Mrs. Jane Coombs
This is Jane’s first term on the board. She is from Leesburg, Florida. She graduated from FSU with a BS degree in elementary education. She taught in Duval County and then married. She and her husband became members of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Their three children were born in Jacksonville and attended St. Mark’s preschool. Her husband taught at St. Mark’s Episcopal Day School. She and her family later returned to Leesburg where she and her husband taught until retirement. She thenreturned to Jacksonville and moved her membership from St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg to San Jose Episcopal Church in 2007. She is currently on the San Jose Comfort Food Ministry. She has also been on the Flower Ministry.
