Extended Day

It’s Up, Up, and Away in Extended Day at San Jose Episcopal Day School for the 2012-2013 school year. Extended Day offers a complete extended day program for all grade levels from PK-3 through 6th grade. We have age appropriate activities with both structured and free play time built into the schedule. The children enjoy a variety of activities including snack time, study time, and free play experiences in a fun, relaxed, and supervised Christian environment.

Each day a study hall is provided for students in first through sixth grade. Students have priority access to computers, the internet and their teacher’s blogs within Extended Day to assist them in completing their homework and practicing their skills with the use of technology as a tool.

The children are also given the opportunity to play outside with their age appropriate
peers in a structured, safe, and fun environment. The staff of the Extended Day Program understands and supports the philosophy that children need time to work but they also need time to play. We work very hard at both by delivering positive work and play experiences in a Christian environment.

FUNTIVITIES

In addition to the Extended Day program enrichment activities called Funtivities are offered. There are many types of Funtivities geared to many different areas of interests at various age appropriate levels. Our Funtivities range from Flag Football, Basketball, Soccer, Drama, Arts and Crafts, Book Clubs, Cooking, and Science to Sailing, Soccer, Dance, and Violin lessons.

Extended Day makes it convenient for children to attend and transition into our
Funtivity Programs since the vast majority of these programs are offered right here at
SJEDS. There are no transportation hassles for you or for your children to attend.
The fees for each of our Funtivity programs vary accordingly to each program’s
requirements. Students who do not normally come to Extended Day may stay in Extended Day from 3:00 – 3:30 at no extra charge while they wait for their Funtivity to begin.
